Our car
The other day I was going to take the car to do my weekly shopping and when I got to the car I realised someone had taken the registration plates. This is not unusual where I live (although I'm not sure why). So I went back to the apartment and told J who called the police who took down his complaint and said, by the way did you know your car has a driving ban since January 2006? No, we didn't. Obv. this was not a huge problem as we hadn't been in any accidents (and the insurance had been paid as had the taxes) but the effect on my husband whose absolute worst fear in the world is not icing teeth would you know, but doing something I L L E G A L, was quite interesting.

You have too many exciting events going on in your lives at the same time! Someone came out to Rick's work the other day (someone he knows and they know the truck he drives) and said, "Rick, do you know you're driving on expired tags"??? He's like, "no I'm not, I remember paying that expensive amount"...he went outside and sure enough, his tag said last year!! But, he was right, he did pay them, he had forgotten to put the sticker on the license plate!!!
why was it illegal?? what is wrong with it?
Nothing was wrong with it, except we had missed the MOT (is that the right UK-lingo?).
As for "absolute worst fear", well I can name a thing or two that I would dread more. But, admittedly, I am pathologically law-abiding. As opposed to my happy-go-lucky-devil-may-care wife... :-)
so you are a perfect match!
