Summer
We're here and it is exactly liked I wanted it. Knee-high grass everywhere. Lovely. We arrived at four in the morning so I'm v. tired, on the verge of crying actually. Edvin thinks it's still midmorning and wants to go the park. He got up at 8.

Sommar

Daph, my dad couldn't go down to fix the garden so this year all the marguerites will be there to welcome me when I arrive. I love this.
Summer reading list
In no particular order as I cannot be bothered:
The Reader by Bernhard Schlink (already started this, it's nice)
The Bolter by Frances Osborne
Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (I loved Half a Yellow Sun)
A Month in the Country by J.L. Carr (I've never read this, but I thought the movie was great. This was before I started disliking Kenneth Branagh(as an actor, as a director and screenwriter I think he's brilliant bordering on genius)
Beijing Doll by Chun Sue
Rememeber Me by Melvin Bragg
Madresfield the Real Brideshead by Jane Mulvagh
Nothing to Lose by Lee Child (his are the best action books)
Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown (ever since the first time I saw Educating Rita I've been wanting to read this)
Svart som natten by Ann Cleeves
What I Loved by Siri Hustvedt (all the other whores* like this one)
*Daph, there's a Swedish website called the book whore (bokhora). It just means they like books. Like I do. A little too much.
I really hope I'll read most of them as I've promised myself not to buy any new books until I've read these. I will probaly read What I Loved and Nothing to Lose and 250 comics. And some Mills&Boon.
And so, obviously I don't need any book tips, but I'd still like to know what everybody else is reading.

Brilliance
"Oh, very well, exclaimed Miss Bates, "then I need not be uneasy. 'Three things very dull indeed.' That will just do for me, you know. I shall be sure to say three dull things as soon as ever I open my mouth, shan't I?-(looking round with the most good-humoured dependence on every body's assent)Do you not think I shall?"
Emma could not resist.
"Ah, ma'am, but there may be a difficulty. Pardon me-but you will be limited as to number-only three at once."
Miss Bates, deceived by the mock ceremony of her manner, did not immediately catch her meaning; but, when it burst on her, it could not anger, though a slight blush showed that it could pain her.
"Ah!-well-to be sure. Yes, I see what she means, (turning to Mr Knightley,) and I will try and hold my tongue. I must make myself very disagreeable, or she would not have said such a thing to an old friend."

Treasure

He does not need any help with the reading. This morning he was inspired by a book he read last night and served me breakfast in bed. With a tray and everything. So I let him read in bed every night for almost as long as he wants to.
